We support a number of local charities such as Friends of Anchor, Archie and Charlie House through The JEllie Foundation.

The JEllie Foundation (charity number SC050866), set up by the hotel’s owners exists to support children and teenagers in the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire area who have medical conditions impacting, or limiting, their daily lives. This is done through The JEllie Foundation fundraising events which result in donations to local charities which provide medical, practical and emotional care for these children and their families.

The hotel’s Signature Food Festival has raised more than half a million pounds for local good causes in recent years.

We also support The Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) which is a charity dedicated to the education of those in the Hospitality Industry.

Early careers opportunities are vital to the hospitality industry.  We’re proud to be founders of the Hospitality Apprenticeship North East - a programme developed by hoteliers in the north east of Scotland to attract young, vibrant talent into the hospitality industry locally. [photos]

We’re also driving an apprenticeship programme for chefs in the north east in association with North East Scotland College.

We offer a range of apprenticeships across all areas of the hotel, providing young people with exceptional opportunities to learn on the job and to forge a successful career in the industry.

The Aberdeen City & Shire Hotels’ Association of which we are a member, has committed to the Young Person’s Guarantee, a national scheme that aims to increase careers opportunities and future prospects for all 16–24-year-olds in Scotland.  We also work closely with DYW and SDS to promote the hotel industry as a great career.
