We continue to phase out single use plastics in our business such as individual condiment sachets and bedrooms toiletries.
We’re phasing in the use of Gordon Castle toiletries in larger containers rather than single use plastic bottles. Gordon Castle lies on the outskirts of Fochabers and we highly recommend a visit! The castle walled garden has been restored and everything they grow goes into the products, shop or café. It’s no wonder it was named Historic Houses Garden of The Year in 2021.
Your soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion all contain pure natural essential oils from the plants and flowers grown in the garden. There’s no palm oil, parabens or petrochemicals and no artificial fragrance, colour nor glycols. None are tested on animals.
Any packaging which comes with Gordon Castle products is biodegradable and made from recycled material. If we give them back the packaging they even add it to their composting facility and it eventually goes back into the garden to nurture the plants in the walled garden, which make it back into the toiletries. How cool – and circular - is that?
It doesn’t stop with the toiletries though. You’ll also find that the coffee pods and the unwrapped teabags in your bedroom are 100% compostable.
We’ve removed the printed guest directories from bedrooms replacing this with an app with all of the info you’ll need from room service menu and ordering to breakfast times.
